Top 3 for #NCBD 4/13/16

Looking for something new to read? Check out these great titles out this week:

Moon Knight #1 (Marvel Comics) $4.99
Writer: Jeff Lemire; Artist: Greg Smallwood

Synopsis: The book you'd be insane to miss! Marc Spector (a.k.a. Moon Knight/Jake Lockley/Steven Grant) has been fighting criminals and keeping New York City safe for years... or has he? When he wakes up in an insane asylum with no powers and a lifetime's worth of medical records, his whole identity (identities) are called into question. Something is wrong, but is that something Marc Spector himself? Jeff Lemire and rising star Greg Smallwood are calling everything you know about Moon Knight into question.

Why We Are Excited: Maybe we should have just been a philosophy major in college, but we love the concept of this new series. Moon Knight might be the perfect Marvel character to play this psycho-drama. He's only really had several shorter-run series before, which makes his past a bit more mysterious and opens up the very real possibility that he is insane. It's much harder to pull that off with longer established characters like Captain America or Iron Man.

I Am A Hero Omnibus TP Vol 1 (Dark Horse) $19.99
Writer and Artist: Kengo Hanazawa

Synopsis: A mentally unhinged manga artist witnesses the beginning of a zombie outbreak in Tokyo, and he's certain of only two things: he's destined to be the city's hero, and he possesses something quite rare in Japan-an actual firearm! The Shogakukan Manga Award winner comes to Dark Horse! Contains I Am a Hero Japanese volumes 1 and 2.

Why We Are Excited: Some critics are saying this series is on par with The Walking Dead for having its unique twists and nobody-is-safe turns. We are interested to see if the old proverb "The one-eyed man is king in the land of the blind" is the same as "The man with the gun is king in a land of zombies."

C-3PO #1 (Marvel Comics) $4.99
Writer: James Robinson; Artist: Tony Harris

Synopsis: Follow everyone's favorite protocol droid as he Journeys to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in this special one-shot leading up to his appearance in the film! Just how did Threepio get a red arm, anyway? Find out here as the blockbuster creative team of James Robinson and Tony Harris!

Why We Are Excited: What Star Wars fan wasn't wondering what was up with '3PO's arm while watching the latest movie? Now we find out. Add in that this will be the first time in almost 20 years that Robinson and Harris have worked together since their run on Starman for DC back in the '90s, and this one-shot will be near the top of our reading stack this week!
