Looking for something cool to read? How about these great new releases out this week:
Writer: Scott Snyder; Artists: Greg Capullo, Danny Miki
Synopsis: Batman has returned to Gotham City! In this extra-sized conclusion to Snyder and Capullo's epic story "Superheavy", Bruce Wayne returns to the cape and cowl to battle Mr. Bloom alongside Jim Gordon for the fate of the city they both love.
Why We Are Excited: Snyder and Capullo's run on Batman has been one of the best series to read in the New 52 era of DC Comics. We've seen them introduce the Court of Owls, deface the Joker and let Jim Gordon don the mantel of the Bat, just to name a few moments. While it's not the final issue these two will be doing on the book (issue #51 will be their last, with a fill in team of James Tynion IV and Rafael Albuquerque on the series final issue, #52) this issue promises to wrap up what they started during their very enjoyable 5-year run on the title.
Writers: Loren Bouchard, Cole Bowden
Synopsis: The Bob's Burgers Burger Book is the first and only pun- and calorie-heavy cookbook based on Fox's Emmy-winning animated hit. These never before seen laugh-out-loud grill-ready burger recipes, specially written by creator Loren Brouchard and based on star Bob Belcher's specialty Burgers of the Day, will have the show's ravenous fans salivating with hunger and hilarity. The Bob's Burgers Burger Book gives burger-loving fans their only chance to eat one of Bob Belcher's beloved specialty creations in 75 original, practical recipes for the hilariously named burgers by fan-favorite blog "The Bob's Burger Experiment."
Why We Are Excited: How often do we get a book that can make us both laugh and fill our stomachs? Fans of the show will want to check out how to make great burgers like "Sweaty Palms Burger", "I Know Why the Cajun Burger Sings Burger" and "Shoot-Out at the OK-ra Corral Burger".
Writer: G. Wassil; Artist: Dave Hamann
Synopsis: Angela's parents have had it with her, and are shipping her off to boarding school. What no one knows? The school is in Hell, where it's pass or fail. The Geekie Award Winner for best graphic novel finally comes to you monthly from Overground Comics!
Why We Are Excited: The premise of a boarding school in Hell sounds like something from the world of anime, and we are totally on board! I wonder how you can extra credit in Hell-school...?
